I'M PLANNING TO BUILD A LOG HOUSE, WHICH LOGS SHOULD I CHOOSE?There is no significant difference in the choice of logs. Some prefer smooth, neatly lying logs that give the appearance of a precisely arranged wall, others prefer hand-peeled, old-fashioned logs with bumps and irregularities. A house made of round natural logs is a little warmer, looks unique. However, there is no such rule that one is superior to the other, it is more an aspect of taste and freedom of choice.
-
AFTER BUILDING A LOG HOUSE, WILL I HAVE TO INVEST ADDITIONALLY IN FINISHES SPECIALLY SUITABLE FOR LOG HOUSES?No additional decoration is required for the walls. After building the house, the walls can remain originally log, it is only necessary to cover them with special means, or to add color - with special paints. Everything else is no different from a regular house arrangement.
-
DO I NEED TO DRY THE LOGS IN SPECIAL DRYERS?In order to achieve maximum quality and tightness of the built house, it is necessary to dry the logs in specially designed dryers. We recommend to choose only such dried logs, and we build only from them. Previously, the logs were dried just outside, placed in stacks. However, it takes about three to four years for the tree to completely dry out. We use special drying chambers - wood dryers. This way we shorten the process to 4-5 weeks.
-
CAN I CHOOSE ANY ROOF FOR A LOG HOUSE?The roof of a log house is not only a mandatory part, but also an accessory. Therefore, when choosing a roof, it must first of all be of high quality. On the other hand, the roof must create a general aesthetic image. We recommend the heaviest possible roof covering, since the roof structure of a log house would be different from other houses. Log houses "sit" over time. Therefore, structures with sliding systems are used for these houses. With the help of these systems, the weight is distributed evenly between all the walls of the house. And the heavier roof covering actively contributes to this. In our practice, we mostly use ceramic tiles, "asbestos-free" slate.
-
HOW LONG DOES A LOG HOUSE BUILD?The cutting of the house itself (the log part) takes from one to three months. It depends on the complexity of the project and the choice of logs. All other equipment, except for interior and exterior wall decoration, does not differ from a regular house.
-
WHAT LOG WILL BE USED AND WHAT DOES THE PRICE DEPEND ON?For log houses we use sawn and natural round logs from solid pine. The thickness of the built walls can be: 18 cm, 20 cm, 22 cm, 23 cm, 25 cm. You can choose according to your needs and possibilities. Houses made of thicker logs will be warmer. If you choose round - natural logs for your house project, then we will use logs with a diameter of 20 cm to 40 cm in thickness. The price depends on the thickness of the logs and the processing technology.
-
WHAT IS THE MAXIMUM LOG LENGTH I CAN CHOOSE?The standard length of the logs is six meters. If desired, according to a separate order and additional price, we can prepare and build a house from logs, the length of which can be up to eight meters.
-
CAN YOU BUILD A HOUSE ACCORDING TO MY DESIGN?Yes, we can. We will build, consult, improve, advise. After evaluating the technical possibilities of the project, we will help to improve the project so that the costs are as low as possible, and the structure is strong, long-lasting and organic. We build houses of any complexity, so we can advise you on how to combine modernity with the classics of a log house.
-
SHOULD I ADDITIONALLY INSULATE THE LOG HOUSE?Not required. If you want the thermal efficiency of the house to be higher, you should simply choose thicker log walls. Well, of course, everything will depend on the additional details of the installation. By choosing A++ class windows, doors, ceiling units, roof, floor and foundation insulation, you can achieve a building with exceptional energy efficiency.
-
IS IT POSSIBLE TO MAKE LARGE PANORAMIC WINDOWS IN A LOG HOUSE?Yes, it is possible. Recently, this trend has become particularly popular. The size of the windows is no different from the windows of other types of buildings. If everything is designed correctly, you can enjoy sunlight and an extraordinary view of nature.
-
WHAT IS THE PRICE PER SQUARE METER OF A LOG HOUSE?It would be difficult to answer this question in one sentence. There are many ingredients. It all depends on the complexity of the project, the type of logs chosen, the number of corners, the squareness of the walls, the materials chosen. We will always give you the exact price after receiving the project and evaluating the quantities and types of materials needed for the implementation of the project. Write us a request and we will contact you.
